Hartland WI – Pillar Technologies has brought another customer requested option, the in-feed bottle stop, to the forefront of induction sealer capabilities. The in-feed bottle stop is an air-actuated gate that stops bottles from entering an inactive sealing area when the machine is in STOP mode or the power is turned off, eliminating the risk of unsealed product getting through production lines.
The pneumatic mechanism actuates a 5” stroke cylinder that blocks passage of bottles under the sealing head. The in-feed gate works in conjunction with the Pillar Unifoiler™ induction sealer’s built-in Loss of Seal alarm. In-feed bottle gates incoming bottles when there is an alarm condition or there is no energy to the sealing coil (head). If energy drops below the operator’s output set point, causing an inactive sealing area, the gate closes. When the energy returns and is once again above the operator set point, the gate opens and bottles are free to move into the active sealing area.
The introduction of the in-feed bottle stop further supports Pillar’s commitment to quality sealing. This feature can be incorporated into the system along with other risk control components such as the missing foil detector, stalled bottle detector and loose or cocked cap monitor.
A deluxe visual three level, high visibility, stacked light assembly can be mounted to the rear of the inverter to indicate a Run (green), Stop (red), or Loss of seal (amber) condition with built in audible alarm. To complete the sealing verification package, Pillar offers a pneumatic reject system that works in conjunction with the detection packages that is activated anytime a detection fault occurs. The reject kicks the bottles off the line into a tray. Larger bottles may be diverted from the line as the customer chooses.
Induction sealing offers packagers a cost-effective sealing solution for applying a foil barrier or protective seal promoting tamper-evidence, leak prevention, pilferage protection and shelf-life extension of certain products. By instituting the in-feed bottle stop, detect and reject verification systems, Pillar Technologies is taking every initiative to ensure 100% quality sealing can be achieved, giving you peace of mind, giving your customers the consumer trust they deserve.
