Contract Toll Treatment

CORONA TREATMENT

Corona treatment is a surface modification technique by which an electrical discharge in air is applied to materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene and fluoropolymers which have chemically inert and nonporous (or porous) surfaces with low surface tensions, and which are typically non-receptive to bonding with printing inks, coatings, and adhesives.

ITW Pillar Technologies offers contract/toll corona treatment of many web materials using single dielectric (bare or covered roll) or dual dielectric VERSATreat™ technologies.

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE PLASMA TREATMENT

Atmospheric pressure plasma treatment (APPT) is also a surface modification technique applied to chemically inert, nonporous (or porous) surfaces materials. The added benefit of APPT is that treatment is applied in a controlled environment using dopant process and reactive gases and monomers, enabling higher performance surface functionalizations to promote new surface capabilities. Surface cleaning of all materials, including foils, is also an APPT capability.

ITW Pillar Technologies offers contract/toll treatment of many web materials using its state-of-the-art Protean1™ Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment technologies.
